We are pleased to launch the 2025 Microfunding competition, offering up to £5,000 per project for initiatives that advance our shared vision of a sustainable future shaped by cutting-edge science.
What we are looking for:
Funded projects will address at least three of the following aims:

Raise awareness of quantum and advanced materials for sustainability.

Identify and overcome barriers to innovation and implementation.
-
Promote good research practice and ethical conduct.
-
Foster interdisciplinary and external collaboration.
-
Support early career researchers.
-
Generate measurable societal, technological, or academic impact.
Who can apply
All members of the University - students (UG/PG), postdocs, academics, assistant and academic-related staff - are eligible. We particularly welcome collaborative teams spanning different departments and disciplines. Project leads must be enrolled or under contract for the full duration of the project.
