About
A special QAMSS community event to celebrate 10 years of the construction of the Cambridge Graphene Centre (CGC) and the 20thanniversary of the Electrical Engineering building is planned for 17th July 2026.
We are excited by the continued development of the West Cambridge Campus, including the opening of the Ray Dolby Centre for the Cavendish Laboratory, part of a wider transformation keeping Cambridge University at the forefront of global science. The nearby West Hub provides a vibrant co-working space for collaboration, learning and community engagement. There is much to see, and many opportunities for new industry-research partnerships.
Outline of the Day: The event will include talks, demonstrations of research and facilities tours, taking place in the Cambridge Graphene Centre, the Electrical Engineering Building, the Computer Science Department Lecture Theatre and in a marquee next to the CGC.
The event will start at 10:00 and include talks from of Dr Hermann Hauser, Kavli Laureate Prof. Pablo Jarillo Herrero, Prof. Manish Chhowalla, Prof. Ado Jorio, Nobel Laureate Prof. Kostya Novoselov, as well as presentations from Cambridge Raman Imaging, CamGraPhIC, IMEC, Ericsson, Talga, CamAdMa, Pragmatic, Cambridge GaN devices, Signaloid and many others.
Lunch will be offered at 13:00-14:30.
The Vice Chancellor will be speaking at 17:30, followed by refreshments until 19:00.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for the community to meet.
