Microfunding Competition

The QAMSS microfunding competition supports new ideas that explore how quantum and advanced materials can help tackle some of society’s biggest challenges and contribute to a more sustainable future.

The fund brings together people from different disciplines to develop innovative projects, test new approaches and build collaborations across the University and beyond. Projects might raise awareness of emerging technologies, address barriers to innovation, promote responsible research, support early career researchers or explore ways to create meaningful societal impact.

We are particularly interested in projects that bring different perspectives and expertise together, and that have the potential to grow beyond the initial funding period through new collaborations, research, engagement or future funding.

The competition is open to University of Cambridge staff, students and staff/student societies. Each year, a new call for applications sets out the available funding, eligibility requirements, deadlines and application process.
