QAMSS Community Day 3 November
We are delighted to invite you to the Community Day of our new Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) on Quantum and Advanced Materials for a Sustainable Society (QAMSS) on 3 November 2025 at the Ray Dolby Centre Ray Dolby Auditorium, West Cambridge.
QAMSS aims for multi-disciplinary research across fields, including engineering, fundamental science, social science, clinical science, humanities, and art, to find solutions for a sustainable society through quantum technologies and advanced materials.
We will bring together Cambridge minds to synthesise a coherent vision to facilitate collaboration across disciplines, improve Cambridge visibility, and coordinate large strategic grants.
In addition, QAMSS will investigate emerging business opportunities, policy implications, and ethical considerations, including exploration of the impact of these technologies on art, from new techniques to redefinitions. Our goal is to bring together a community of experts and thought leaders to collaborate on solving some of the world's most pressing challenges.
The launch event will start from 12:00 with light lunch in the foyer of the Ray Dolby Auditorium and feature speeches (13:30-18:30) from the Board and the Steering Committee of QAMSS and external world-renowned experts in this field, who will discuss the QAMSS's vision and mission, as well as demonstrations of its state-of-the-art technology.
