About
The Community Day of the Strategic Research Initiative (SRI) on Quantum and Advanced Materials for a Sustainable Society (QAMSS) was held on 3 November 2025 at the Ray Dolby Centre Ray Dolby Auditorium, West Cambridge.
QAMSS aims for multi-disciplinary research across fields, including engineering, fundamental science, social science, clinical science, humanities, and art, to find solutions for a sustainable society through quantum technologies and advanced materials.
The Community Day brought together Cambridge minds to encourage new collaborations across disciplines, improve Cambridge visibility, and share update on important initiatives and strategic grants.
In addition, during the event we investigated emerging business opportunities, policy implications, and ethical considerations, including exploration of the impact of these technologies on art, from new techniques to redefinitions.
The winners of the 2025 Microfunding competition were announced during the event.
The Community day featured speeches (13:30-18:30) from the Board and the Steering Committee of QAMSS and external world-renowned experts in this field, who will discuss the QAMSS's vision and mission, as well as demonstrations of its state-of-the-art technology.
